Hi! This is Lisa Lentz of Clearwater Creek Music.

My musical background includes piano lessons and playing in our living room with “the family band” as a kid (brother on guitar and sister on tambourine), Glee Club and Music Memory class (way back when they still taught music in public schools), decades of singing in community and church choirs and small ensembles, singing with Doug (Swenson) and the Angels, LeeLee Robert and Friends, Cottonwood Stone’s Stonehaven band, Dr. H.G. Moses’ In-Chant Ensemble (with my harmony-junkie sister Trisha Zahn) and a brief time as Rhapsodie with harmony sisters Trisha Zahn and Rose Duncan. When Rhapsodie’s harmonies met comedian/singer/songwriter Ron Wright from Trisha’s folk music trio Rocky Road, amazing harmonies and endless fun were born, and my life was changed forever!

An Arizona native and self-described “harmony junkie,” I was captivated by musical harmony from a very young age wondering  “how do they do that?” Spending 17 years singing and studying with harmony master Dr. H.G. Moses taught me “how to do that.”  Studying with voice coach Heather DuBois honed my vocal skills. To quote one of my earlier teachers, “harmony is it’s own reward.”

Inspired by the music of Crosby, Stills & Nash, The Wailin’ Jennys and Dr. H.G. Moses, I have never written a song of my own, but I enjoy arranging others’ songs with layered harmonies, word weaving and interesting endings.

My favorite stage is anywhere there is an audience who wants to have some fun.

Come see us . . . we have more fun in one show than most people have all year!

Hi You All!

This is Ron Wright of the folk trio, Clearwater Creek. What an amazing experience it has been to sing with two extremely talented girls! Between all three of us we have like, zillions of years of musical experience (well, I exaggerated a little; it’s way over one-hundred!) My musical roots go back to the days of playing “air guitar’ on a yardstick to the sound of the Beatles! My first performance in front of ‘non-family’ members was at church performing an old BeeGees song, Marley Purt Drive. About at that time I started writing music and that has never ended, to this very moment! So in my high school/early college days I performed bass/guitar in a full band for a chorus of singers. That was fun! For a short time later I played in a top-40 band; all covers, of course. Next in the line up I performed with two good friends of mine at weddings and small venues - Bobbie actually sang one of my originals at her own wedding, wow! And Jim played amazing guitar! After leaving the windy state of Kansas, Arizona became my home. I played in the folk trio, Rocky Road for seventeen years. At the same time I created the educational, ecological, interactive, entertaining show, Worm Drive The Musical. That was performed for children eight to twelve years of age, all over Arizona & California about a zillion times..  (well, again, I exaggerated! It was more than 800 shows!) My favorite stage was at the Cornfest one year in Bullhead City, AZ; although every stage has allowed me to be creatine and have fun! Ok, today I am so excited to be performing with Clearwater Creek; my favorite all time three-part harmony-fluid trio! I play guitar and sing, and maybe someday you’ll see me pick at my one-string banjo!

Thanks for reading…   now come listen!

Vocals

Hi! Trisha here from Clearwater Creek Music.

Growing up in Ohio, I loved singing along with my albums, making up harmonies as I went. Looking for the meaning of life in the lyrics, I did a lot of soul searching in my youth. After singing in high school choir and with the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra choir, I arrived in Arizona in 1984. Here I sang with the Phoenix Philharmonic Orchestra choir, and several folk music groups including Cottonwood Stone and StoneHaven, Rogue Flower, 17 years with Rocky Road (Peter, Paul & Mary tribute band), a brief time with all-girl trio Rhapsodie, and currently with Clearwater Creek.Every Monday night I continue to sing the spiritual music of Dr. H.G. Moses with the Higher Vibrations choir. I also play a mean shaker, tambourine, rain stick and various other percussion instruments.

With musical inspiration from Peter, Paul & Mary, Crosby, Stills & Nash, John Denver (probably my first album), James Taylor, Captain & Tenniel, Ann Murray and Karen Carpenter (no one can sing a sad song like Karen Carpenter!), you wouldn’t guess that I also LOVE the music of Meatloaf! I used to entertain my kids by “rocking out” around the house while cleaning, using the mop or broom as my electric guitar, swinging my hair around and making strange faces to his heavy metal rock tunes. Making people laugh is STILL one of my performance goals. If I could give one piece of advice to a new performer, I would say “feel the fear, and do it anyway!” Don’t let it ruin your good time.

My best performing experiences have been at the big amphitheater stage at Flagstaff Folk Festival, The Museum Club stage in Flagstaff (very lively audience) and the indoor stage at Sharlot Hall Prescott Folk Festival. Live, acoustic music can be a powerful, healing medicine that can uplift, bring you to tears, make you laugh, and deliver a message that seems only meant for you. Please encourage your friends to attend a live music performance; a festival, coffee house, concerts, and actually LISTEN to the performer. Support your local musicians!

We look forward to entertaining YOU!.
